5 Minute Dull Skin Refresh

When that summer glow starts looking less dewy and more dull, a little help in the cell turnover department does wonders.  I’ve been stepping up my weekly self-pampering game to really cleanse my skin, turning to a few new product discoveries to refresh again for bronzer in the AM.  Since I’m not a fan of heavy makeup (especially during these summer months) keeping my skin clear and hydrated is key.  Here’s a look at my 5 minute evening routine on the nights I feel like I need some extra TLC…

First (and most important) step: removing the makeup!  Since becoming diligent about removing my makeup with a balm before cleansing, I’ve noticed such a difference in my skin (read: way less breakouts).  This Sunday Riley Blue Moon Cleansing Balm is my latest obsession as it removes everything while also exfoliating with gentle micro-beads.  Love!

Secondly, step up the exfoliation.  I’ve been using my Clarisonic Mia (currently on sale here) to slough off the dead skin cells, prepping skin for deeper hydration.  (Wash with whatever gentle cleanser you prefer.)

After fully cleansing, I’ve been incorporating more masks into my routine depending on my skin’s needs (i.e.: hydration, cleansing etc).  This mask from African Botanics gives just the skin-pep-up that I need.  Leave on for 15-20 minutes then wash off before hitting the pillow.

Lastly, if I’m feeling especially indulgent and my eyes are in need of a quick fix, I’ll throw on these fancy looking gold eye patches.  My guy makes fun of me whenever I have these on–but they sure plump things up making me feel alive again.
