NYC Sister Trip

When my sister casually asked me if I wanted to head to New York with her to visit a girlfriend my answer was an obvious–duh!  Our flights were booked that same day.  I know it’s not ideal weather-wise right now to venture east but since I’ve lived through those temps, and honestly after living Upstate with my guy, I can hang–plus we didn’t care as most of our itinerary would consist of museums and girl dates (indoors).

The Look | IRO Jacket (similar) + Beanie (similar).  Equipment Sweater.  The Great Jeans.  Isabel Marant Booties (also love in black).

I wore this IRO fleece jacket so much while living in New York that I got sick of it but now that I don’t have to wear it for months at a time I love whenever I get the chance to pull it out.   I let my sister raid my closet and we packed our warmest layers–trading off throughout the week (a key to packing light!). Bonus to traveling with your sis!  These little booties were a sale find while in the city and they’re uber comfortable.

It was fun to share The Ludlow with my sis (now my favorite spot to stay when I’m in New York). She thought it was super cool and loved the grittier feel of the lower east side.  Before she had really only experienced the west side while visiting me in my old apartment.  I took her to both, Fat Radish for dinner (I love this spot for healthier options, cute date spot!) and Freemans for brunch (if you go early you may luck out and have the place to yourselves).  She also didn’t remember Nolita and Elizabeth Street so it was fun to walk over to that area for my Cafe Gitane couscous fix, a little shopping, and a sister ear piercing date at NY Adorned.

We also fit in a MOMA date and while I was out at meetings my sis hit up the Met and the Whitney as well. Impressive!

We lucked out and made it out of New York just before Jonas hit. I couldn’t believe the snow filled instagrams that filled my feed this past weekend. And while I was a little bummed as I miss those mornings waking up to a sheet of snow on the ground–I couldn’t complain to be back in those 60 degree San Francisco temps.
