My guy and I have long been dreaming of one day owning a ranch style home. I’m mostly just excited about the prospects of a house with character, incredible bones and filled with stories. And he is mostly excited about the property so it works out. Side note and, coincidentally, just days after styling this farm shoot I went to hang with my friend Sam on her grandparent’s ranch here in Sacramento and it was literally my dream. Our dream. I of course fell in love with her grandmother’s killer eclectic decor, and my guy–the land. We can’t stop thinking about it and so posting these photos today feels extra special.
I had been wanting to style a shoot that involved horses for sometime, and when my sweet new friend Kelly (heeey I’m making friends!! ps: you may remember her?) told me she rode horses on a farm just outside of Davis, I jumped at the chance to collaborate. It’s beautiful (albeit crazy hot days–we shot this during the 100* heat wave) like this that really make me appreciate being back in Northern California. As much as I love the city I’ll always be a small town, country girl at heart.
I was actually inspired to style this carefree farm shoot while putting together the collage wall in my office. If you look closely you might spot the very magazine tear out that really set the mood!
