SF Staycation: Hotel Kabuki

For as often as I am in San Francisco I rarely stay in a hotel. Instead, I crash at what is now my sister and cousin’s pad (my old SF apartment) in Nob Hill. And if I’m being honest as much as I dislike that shower situation I totally prefer this as it’s quite comforting to be in my old hood, and this way I get my cousin-sister fix whenever I’m in the city. Plus, let’s be honest it’s free!

This past week however, in between running around arranging flowers, toasting to pixora, and celebrating my sister’s birthday, I did happen to enjoy a mini staycation at Hotel Kabuki in Japantown. I’m always on Fillmore Street (just blocks from the hotel) however I only really ever head over to Japantown to see a movie at the Kabuki Theatre (a must). While in the area, my sister recommended I check out Fat Angel. Have you been? Such a gem of a wine bar!

I feel like I know the city so well and yet after being out of the state for just a couple of years so much has of course changed. So even just this neighborhood change of scenery gave me a fresh perspective and has opened my eyes to stepping outside of my usual suspects.
