Shop the Runway: Best Fashion Apps

This has been the first (fashion week) season that I’ve caught up on all of my favorite shows from my phone. In seasons past I would spend hours going through the collections on Style.com (which was fun) but with Vogue Runway‘s new app it’s just been too easy to browse while on-the-go. (Like yesterday, playing catch-up on the London and Paris shows while en route to Napa for wine tastings–or–this morning clicking through Isabel Marant’s spring line while in line for coffee, and quicker I might add, than any runway images hit my instagram feed). It’s incredible how fast the shows are up on the site and app now! When I was at ELLE just 2 years ago–lightyears in the tech space–it was a process (late nights and loads of coffee) to get those images uploaded, write the reviews, and create trend reports. I definitely don’t miss that.

The coolest part about sharing the collections so quickly is that it makes fashion week just that more accessible. We can all follow the shows from the comfort of our bed, office chair, or uber ride. And now shop the runways–thanks to Moda Operandi… your next download by the way. I love the runway edits Moda put together for New York (I may have pre-ordered this Ulla Johnson piece for spring!) and London, and am just patiently waiting for the Paris edit.

Apps like Moda and my other shopping faves, Net-A-Porter’s: The Edit and their newest social shopping app: The Net Set, make discovering newer up-and-coming designers easier. And with my experience as a buyer seeing the collections ahead of time only helps you make more informed shopping decisions about what pieces you may want to invest in now and what trends will be sticking around.

What are your favorite fashion / shopping apps? Any others I need to download?
