You know it was a good weekend when you come home and decide to swap your scheduled blog post for a weekend recap. (Or you know you’re a nerdy blogger when… wink, wink). My guy and I have been all about the weekend trips this summer and spent this past Friday through Sunday in Tiburon. Surprisingly enough, with family from Marin and having lived in the bay area myself for years, I had not spent much time in this charming waterfront town. So although I knew it was adorable, I didn’t really know what else to expect outside of picturesque views.
My guy and I love exploring any new city or town, so we spent most of our time on foot, taking in the gorgeous views of the city across the way. Our favorite part about the weekend was our hike on Angel Island. I thought it was going to be touristy, which it kind of is, but it really is a fun trail and again, those views (and the ferry ride!) can’t be beat. We picked up sandwiches at Woodlands Market and made a picnic out of the afternoon (definitely recommend). All in all it was the perfect getaway–we unplugged, over-indulged, lucked out with some awesome sunny weather and can’t wait to return again soon!
(Tiburon reminded me a lot of another weekend getaway favorite of ours: Carmel–which I think is another reason why we loved it so much.)
