The highlight of my trip to New York last week (besides seeing all of my girlfriends) was an afternoon of hair pampering at the new Nexxus New York Salon in Tribeca. The salon is absolutely gorgeous–I wanted to move right in! So much thought went into the design process and salon experience. From the locally brewed coffee to the natural lighting and the most unbelievably comfortable salon chairs you’ll ever have your hair washed in… it was such a treat I tell you.
Upon arrival, Kevin Mancuso, Nexxus’ Global Creative Director walked me through their innovative and interactive mirror that tracks your hair history so you can keep track of your restoration journey for future visits. I’ve never had anything like that done before and found it fascinating as he analyzed my hair and customized the perfect treatment for me. Kevin suggested Diametress Shampoo and Conditioner for its volumizing properties as well as the Humctress Replenishing Masque and with that I was whisked away for a hair washing.
This is the life!
After my mask, my hair was blown dry and styled using their the Diametress Gel Spray and the product I’m most in love with: Encapsulate Serum. It felt so silky smooth–the best it’s looked in a long time! Kevin then came around and asked if I was up for a cut. But of course! When you meet a professional that good you should let them do anything to your hair. He shorted up the back and we both decided to give my hair another two months or so and that I should then try an edgier cut. I’m thinking a more dramatic lob–longer in the front, shorter in the back. Thoughts?
Kevin also parted my hair down the middle, something I haven’t done since I was in high school. At first I wasn’t sure, but it grew on me and by the end of the visit I was obsessed! I left feeling refreshed–my color even looked more vivid after the treatment.
I’m excited to be partnering with Nexxus New York Salon Care over these next couple months and will be sharing more of my favorite product discoveries from the brand as well as my hair transformation. I can’t wait to go back to the New York salon next time I’m in the city and highly recommend you book an appointment!
