How Do You Hide the Kid Stuff?

The great debate–to hide the kid stuff or let it take over?  As much as I told myself we wouldn’t collect too much baby gear, the next thing you know it really is taking over.  And I’m actually totally cool with the toys taking over because I think it’s sweet to see the mini reminders that Rex is around and in our life now.  Especially after he’s gone to bed and his stuffed friends are on the couch as you sit down to watch the news.  However I will say it does get a little crazytown over here and I’ve realized to keep my sanity it helps to have easy multifunctional pieces of décor (i.e.: baskets and things that blend in with your style) to help hide the mess.  Basically anything I can easily toss everything into throughout the day without having to take things back upstairs to his room.  So maybe I’m just lazy?

This basket from Loom Goods (sadly sold out but linked a few cute basket options below) has lived in our family room ever since packing a bunch of Rex’s things for a picnic.  It started off just me forgetting to bring everything back up to his room and then I realized it was perfect for keeping some of his toys downstairs.  Same with the vintage chest that I finally cleaned out to store some of his things as well.  How do you hide the kid stuff?  Would love to hear!
