#10Things Feb 28

This week we got a true flavor of spring with the weather and blooms popping up in our yard! It was a busy work week with projects and deadlines for me so I took full advantage of a couple of 70 degree afternoons, soaking up that sunshine with Rex and Willow.

Lounging in our backyard got me daydreaming of planting more flowers and greenery, to make our backyard my dream little secret garden escape. Rex and I started hanging his art in the play area off of our family room which has added such a sweet layer of color. And so, along with his paintings and all of the citrus and blooming branches throughout our house right now we are officially in spring-mode.

As we head into the weekend, I hope you have fun and relaxing plans and give yourself time to recharge and soak up those sweet signs of spring as well!… here are some notes and links from my week. xx Alicia

An Afternoon To-Do

Clip flowers or citrus from your yard for a pretty arrangement. I just love garden clippings on the counter. Plus it’s good for the trees and plants too! If you can find quince branches (they had some at our local Co-Op this week), they’re my absolute favorite.

OZMA Spring Collection

For my California and Sacramento friends especially–I’m sure you can appreciate this, the warmer temps this week were a reminder of the brutal 100+ days to come which I’m not looking forward to. One easy-breezy brand with lovely linen separates that I lived in last summer was Ozma and I wanted to share that they gave me a discount code to share with you: ALICIA15 for 15%. Their pieces are ideal for California spring / summer in that Sacramento heat.

Sandals On My Spring Wish-List

At the top of my spring wish-list in the sandal department this year: Beatrice Valenzuela Nude Classic Sandalia. For a dressier pair, if you have a wedding or bridal shower coming up (I do)–I’ve been really loving By Far. These are really comfy.

Perfectly Curated Home of Antiques

This home feature on Rip & Tan is so beautiful! Every room is perfectly curated with amazing antiques–such great inspiration for curating a home of found pieces you absolutely love. The hunt takes time but like she said, if I love something I buy it and will find a special place for it.

Lavender Shimmer on the Eyes

I first started really crushing on lavender hues around this time last year (I bought a lavender set of ceramic plates). Flash forward–I’m still very much in love with the color and it’s finding it’s way slowly into my closet and beauty cabinet. Loved playing around with a lavender shimmer on my eyes and cheeks this week. So not my usual but it felt so springy and fun. (Surratt Beauty Shadow in Ultraviolet) (Saie Beauty Dew Balm in Lilac).

Fewer Finer Fine Jewelry

I love a delicate gold chain bracelet but for me they can be tricky to put on yourself–which is why I especially love the concept of Fewer Finer’s Eternal Bracelets and finally had one welded on last week. Couldn’t love it more. Also, how amazing / stunning is this Two Pockets Ring with stones on both sides. I can’t stop thinking about it.

Paris Fashion Week: Isabel Marant Fall 2020

Played catch-up on a few of my favorite designers who showed recently during Paris Fashion week and of course, I loved the neutral palette that walked the Isabel Marant show. Planning to re-create this look… which goes with my standard spring all-cream palatte.

Bon-Ton at YOYA

Next time you find yourself in the West Village pop into Yoya. It’s adorable and where I have found some of my favorite pieces for Rex and Willow over the years. Also were I picked up this sweet Bon-Ton mix-matched set Willow is wearing in these pics.

Toddler Activities

Those with toddlers–I let Rex choose two new pairs of new shoes this past weekend and he got to color on the white pair to make them his own. He (and I) love an art project together! We also started hanging more of his art around the house and it just makes him so proud and gives him such a confidence boost. He immediately showed off his work to anyone who came over this week.

Up Your Vitamin C

With all of the colds and flus going around I’ve been squeezing all the lemons from our tree and adding lemon and orange slices to my water. It’s always so refreshing!
