A Day at Stoney Creek Ranch With Rex

Last week Rex and I drove an hour(ish) outside of Sacramento to spend the day hanging out at my girlfriend Melissa’s families’ ranch: Stoney Creek Ranch.  Her in-law’s are in the midst of fixing up the property with the plan to turn it into a wedding venue, bed & breakfast and operating vineyard come next year so Melissa had been telling me I had to come out to see the “before.”  And oh what a magical place it is!  That whole area, even just the drive up there was just so beautiful and calming.  The bright yellow and mossy green hills are gorgeous right now.  We had fun riding around on ATV’s, checking out the pond, showing Rex the mini goats, indulging in the thickest most delicious pancakes, eating grapes straight from the vine, and just an excuse to snag some additional quality time with Melissa while she was in town.  I tell ya, that ranch life is sounding more and more appealing lately.  Anyone else?

Since it was even cooler up at their ranch I bundled Rex up in his adorable reversible North Face jacket that I found at Nordstrom.  It’s still a little big for him so it will be a good one to grow into and wear all winter long but I couldn’t wait to break it in any longer.  And how cute is the girls’ pink reversible style?

Additional cozy winter jacket finds from Nordstrom for the little ones…

Rex slept the entire way to and back home which meant I got to listen to my podcasts and music and just zone out which was just so nice.  It was a perfect day and just looking at this pics makes me wish I was back there.

I wore probably my most favorite sweater of the season–this cozy flecked cashmere sweater.

Thank you to Nordstrom for collaborating on this post!
