New (Old) Addition

We’ve been taking the holidays very seriously over here–barely touching the computer which has been a nice break (and awesome to have my guy home and work-free for an extended amount of time–the first in a long time!). Stepping away from work has led to the completion of a few more projects around the house (yay!) which have made such a difference in the homey aspect. While my parents were visiting I even put my dad to work hanging my large framed indigo, and I went shopping in the best antique store I know of (my Nana’s house) for books and objects to fill more of the open shelving in our family room. But one of the biggest game changers that we added to our place this holiday break was a new rug under our dining table. We have yet to add art to the wall and our blinds are on their way but simply adding this rug has made all of the difference and gives the entire dining / kitchen such warmth and an over-all cozier feel.

My guy and I both love abc Carpet & Home so much (it was one of our favorite decor spots to peruse on a free weekend day in New York) so it was a no brainer to take advantage of their winter sale. I spent hours scouring their site in search for the perfect rug that would fit this space (size and color-wise). I knew I wanted something vintage as the feel, and muted colors are totally my style and honestly the hardest part during our search was that they have too many amazing options. We finally landed on this one-of-a-kind turkish rug with a hint of faded blue in the corner which ties in the indigo print on the opposite wall perfectly. We couldn’t be more obsessed and pleased with the rug and how perfectly it fits our space and accents our dining set!
