Life with a newborn and toddler means I was prepared for a very low-key summer. Lots of lazy afternoon backyard hangs and picnicking have been just our speed. I’ve collected an assortment of summertime lounge essentials over the years (all mainly neutral colored as you know this is my go-to palette of choice, ha!) and thought I’d share where I’ve snagged some of my favorite finds from picnic blankets and towels to throwbeds , as the fourth of July is sneaking up on us!
THROWBEDS | First off, because this one is at the top of my personal summer wish-list, I’ve been wanting a Hedgehouse throwbed ever since my friend Sam introduced them to me on this picnic (they’re perfect for backyard hangs or for a day at the beach). I just found them on One Kings Lane as well (the stripe and mini in chambray are my favorites).
BEACH TOWELS + BLANKETS | If you care about aesthetics like I do, I love the look of linen beach towels… but I will admit they’re not snuggly for throwing around your kids as they get out of the pool. But they are perfect for tossing on the grass for your afternoon picnics. Favorites currently are these from Rough Linen, this chambray linen blanket from Fog Linen, and these striped linen beach towels (in blue and natural) from MagicLinen. The waffle knit towel pictured here is also from MagicLinen. And also loving the neutral blankets from Midland.
BASKETS + BASKET BAGS | Even if just heading out in our backyard I rely on my assortment of baskets to carry everything out with us. I’ve accumulated quite the collection over the years and I would say my favorite catch-alls are either vintage or from The General Store, Jenni Kayne, DianiLiving and Elsie Green.
Willow in the sweetest MaboKids romper (a little big still but I couldn’t wait to put her in it!).
ADDITIONAL LOUNGE ESSENTIALS | Always a hat, extra sunscreen and plenty of water!
