Déjà Vu NYC

If you’ve been following me since my New York days, does this outfit give you a slight case of déjà vu? Feels like the old New York me–to me at least!

It was, as always, so good to be back in the city last week. I had a few meetings and got to catch up with my New York friends and ex-coworkers. I stayed in the lower east side again and enjoyed one leisurely morning to myself walking from the East Side to the West Village and on into Meatpacking. One of my favorite walks! Straight off the red eye, I grabbed an energizing smoothie and was the happiest of campers cruising down Bleecker. I stopped into as many of my favorite stores as I could along the way before my first appointment of the day. It’s hard to believe that this fall marks 2 years since leaving New York. It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long at all, but then when I visit and our old street has completely changed, it gives me a little pang of sadness that that chapter has closed. Each trip back I always go to our old corner store to pick up an Evian or snack… makes me feel like I still live there. And I guess you could say that’s one of the best aspects about New York–it’s forever evolving. There’s always something new and exciting to experience.

The Look | Rebecca Minkoff Jacket.  Self Portrait Top (similar styles).  Citizens of Humanity Jeans.  IRO Heels.  Céline Sunglasses.  Jennifer Fisher + Adina Reyter Necklace.

About the look ~ I can’t get enough of suede and this jacket is one of my favorite pieces from the Rebecca Minkoff fall collection (okay, also this cutie!). I haven’t been into peplum in a while (since New York circa 2 years ago hence the déjà vu post title) but I’m having a Self Portrait moment. Lastly, these boyfriend jeans are my third pair of Corey’s. When you know what you like you know what you like…
