Holiday Dress Mode | The Trusty Slip-Dress

15 November

I seriously can’t believe it’s time to start thinking (or maybe you’ve already decided on) holiday dress mode already.  Seriously where do the weeks go?  We have a few special occasion events coming up and one formal so I’ve been raiding my closet as well as searching for both more casual and a black tie options.  Or pieces I can mix with what I already own.  I’ve been trying my hardest to not be lured in by the slip dresses but once again they’re what I gravitate towards.  I tend to always lean towards a slip dress layered if it’s more of a conservative environment (ie: husband’s office party) with tights and boots, or without all the layers for a dressier evening out.  I’ve accumulated a few fave slip dresses that have proven well worth the investment over the years and keep pulling for them, and styling them in various ways.  Most worn is my black and silver-gold slip dress which are both ideal for holiday events so if you’re wondering what color to opt for, highly suggest either of those.  You’ll find so many ways to wear them!  I also love throwing a chunkier knit sweater over the top and a pair of boots for dinner parties.  Linking some fave styles from around the web right now… loved this floral one for a fun change from my solids.  Also just can’t go wrong (if you have a more formal event) with a chic black slip gown.

And if you’re starting to think about holiday dressing as well but slip dresses aren’t your thing, Intermix’s Holiday Shop is probably my fave edit from around the web right now.
