Snow Day at The Palace

I was secretly hoping we would have a snow day while I was back east.  If it’s going to be that cold–give us some pretty snow!  (At least that’s how I feel.)

It started snowing while my guy and I were out to brunch at a fave spot: Cafe Gitane.  My guy has never understood why I love it so much, but it’s always a must for me when I’m in New York–and so I dragged him along for my fix.  I actually have a joke that my trips back aren’t official until I’ve eaten at the Nolita location (I’m constantly asking my girlfriends who wants to go).  We lucked out with a front window seat which made for the best snow-falling / people watching.  The snow-covered sidewalks just make me so happy and remind me of what it was like to live in the city during the winter.  Sometimes it’s magical and sometimes it’s brutal, but when you’re just visiting and dressed properly for the weather–it’s mainly magical.

This trip we stayed Uptown.  You may remember that I usually stay downtown here, but when given the chance to stay at The Palace I was excited for my Gossip Girl moment.  Staying Uptown worked out great for my guy as all of his meetings for work were within a few blocks from our hotel.  We stayed in The Towers–which was quite the treat.  The suites are by far the biggest I’ve ever stayed in in New York.  In fact, one day my morning breakfast date was canceled and since the weather outside was brutal I ended up having a mini-staycation and didn’t leave the hotel until around 3pm to head to the Coach show.  I felt a little guilty being in New York and not taking advantage of the day–but not guilty enough to leave this bed, ha!
