2 Transitional Pieces to take you from Summer to Fall

As I’ve grown into my style I’ve become much more aware of choosing pieces that I will wear and love year after year.  Instead of chasing every trend, I like to update my seasonal wardrobe with a few key transitional pieces that will take me into the next season.  As we start to think about fall dressing (I know I am!), I’ve styled two pieces from Who What Wear’s latest collection for Target, both of which are key transitional pieces to have in your wardrobe: 1) the trench and, 2) denim jacket.  Both of these items are classics yet have a fresh feel to them for the new season.

Look I | Who What Wear x Target Trench + Tee.  IRO Jeans (similar).  Balenciaga Sandals.  Jennifer Fisher Cuff.  Céline Sunglasses.

The polka-dot trench isn’t necessarily a piece I would have thought I would be drawn to–in fact I don’t think I own any polka-dots–but this update on a classic with the subtle pattern feels cool, not cheesy.  Most of all, the way the duster-like length hangs creates a super flattering, elongating look.  It’s definitely worth trying on!  When styled with my summer whites and black heels it feels like the ideal pre-fall getup.

My second favorite piece from the WWW for Target fall collection was the collarless denim jacket.  Another fun update on a classic style.  I’ve been throwing it over summer dresses which is a look I could easily wear well into September / October.
