That Yellow Couch Though.

So I guess a funny pro-California moment was finding this awesome yellow couch last week and instantly feeling at ease taking a seat. Unfortunately New York–ehem, a fear of bed bugs–instilled in me a fear of “free” furniture on sidewalks. I think just about every girlfriend warned me about sitting on the wooden benches in the subway, not to touch furniture left on the street, and to be wary of movie theater seats. I was paranoid for a while, but it’s kind of one of those things that could easily drive you crazy so I tried not to think about it too much. Now back to this couch, and being in CA,… it was just begging to be a part of our little shoot.

The Look | While it might be snowing like crazy on the east coast–we’ve been spoiled with some pretty typical (mild) California winter days over here. I know that it will be warming up before we know it so I’ve decided to make as much use of my over-the-knee boots as possible.

And I have to mention this ultra cool Herkimer diamond earcuff which was a gift from Melissa Joy Manning. The cuff was a collaboration between the designer and Refinery29–a piece that was inspired by their shared desire to support American Made products. This is something I’ve definitely paid much more attention to in my own buying personally, and while shopping for Syllabus this year as I think it’s so important to support local and made in the US when you can.
