AWAY: Ojai Bound

16 August

As soon as we found out our baby news we became so preoccupied with getting as much done on our house as we could this summer so any kind of vacation plans were put on hold.  The farther we got into August and the closer to baby, we realized we should take some time off (working on that end of the summer bucket-list!).  Since we’re always up for a road trip, we packed our bags and headed south.  First stop (as you may have already seen on instagram or Snapchat @AliciaMLund): Ojai!  I have been dying to get back to Ojai since spending my mom’s birthday at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa a couple years back and was anxious to share the quaint mountain town with my guy.

One nice aspect about heading for a warm destination is that packing is a breeze (very little necessary!).  And another awesome aspect about this particular getaway–a new suitcase that we both fought over for the trip.  We’ve been obsessed with Away for many reasons.  Aesthetically it’s simple.  I love how lightweight it is, and the added compartments means packing toiletries, shoes etc. won’t shift around (there’s even a detachable and machine washable laundry bag).  It has four wheels making it easy to maneuver, has a TSA approved lock and best of all according to my guy: the charging capabilities.  This solves one of his worst nightmares: a dead phone at the airport.  I mean can you imagine
